If you are a user of the TaskHuman Platform and a California resident, California’s “Shine the Light” law (California Civil Code § 1798.83) permits you to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information regarding our disclosure of your personal information (if any) to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If this law applies to you and you would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Registration Information: When you sign up for a TaskHuman account, you give us your name, email address, and phone number. If you decide to sign up for TaskHuman using a third party account (e.g. Facebook, Google, LinkedIn), we will also get basic registration information from your third party account.
User Profile Information: When you join the TaskHuman Platform, you provide information to help create your TaskHuman Profile, such as your name and photo.. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information provided that appears in your TaskHuman Profile.
Communications: If you contact us directly or we contact you, we may receive additional information about you and any content or information you provide. Any communications made on the Platform between Users may also be collected and shared with us.
Knowledge Provider Application Information: In addition to the basic registration information, we may ask you for your date of birth, physical address, social security number, identity card information (including a government- issued photo identification), insurance information, and additional business license or permitting information. We may share this information with our partners who help us by running background checks to help protect the TaskHuman User community. We will never ask you to provide any personal health information, which includes, without limitation, information relating to the diagnosis or treatment of medical and health conditions, such as medical history, test and laboratory results, medications prescribed, genetic testing, behavioral health conditions, substance use and any other information relating to the provision of health care services.
Knowledge Provider Marketing Information & Assets: When you share marketing information and assets, we may keep that information in order to promote you both within and outside of the TaskHuman Platform.
Payment Method and Payment Information: When you add a credit card or payment to your TaskHuman account, a third party which handles payments for us will receive your card information in order to help facilitate payments. Also, if you are a Knowledge Provider, in order to get paid, we keep information about Knowledge Providers’ bank routing numbers, tax information, and any other payment related information provided by Knowledge Providers.
Usage Information: To help us understand how you use the TaskHuman Platform and to help us improve it, we automatically receive information about your interactions with the TaskHuman Platform, like the searches you make, your actions within the TaskHuman application, and the dates and times of your knowledge exchanges.
Call and In-App Messaging Information: We work with third-party service providers to facilitate video calls, voice calls, push notifications and in-app messaging between Knowledge Seekers and Knowledge Providers who have been connected for a knowledge exchange. We and our service providers receive information about these communications including the date and time of the call or in-app message,and the content of any in-app messages.
User Ratings Feedback: At TaskHuman, we want to make sure Users are always having great knowledge exchanges. Users may rate each other at the end of every knowledge exchange. By receiving this rating information, Knowledge Seekers and Knowledge Providers can share this information about each other.
Location Information: For security purposes,TaskHuman receives your location information based upon your IP address.
Device Information: TaskHuman receives information from Users’ devices, including IP address, web browser type, mobile operating system version, manufacturer, application installations, device identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers, and, if you register with a third party account, your third party account identifier. We also collect data from Users’ devices for certain events (e.g. crashes & errors) to help improve the User experience..
Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies: We collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to understand how you navigate through the TaskHuman Platform, to learn what content is popular, and to save your preferences. Cookies are small text files placed on your device; they are designed to store basic information and to help websites and applications recognize your browser. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be accessed every time you use the TaskHuman Platform. While you may be able to modify your cookie settings, please be aware that if you delete or choose not to accept cookies from us, you may not benefit from certain features of the TaskHuman Platform.
Third Party Services: If you choose to register for TaskHuman or otherwise link your TaskHuman account with a third party’s service (e.g. Facebook, Google, LinkedIn), we may receive the same type of information we collect from you (described above) directly from those services.
Third Party Partners: We may receive additional information about you, such as demographic data or fraud detection information, from third party partners and combine it with other information that we have about you.
Enterprise Alliance Programs: If your company participates in one of our Enterprise Alliance Programs, we may receive information about you from your company.
Knowledge Provider Background Information: TaskHuman may work with third party partners to perform background checks and identify verification. We may receive information from them such as criminal history or loss/suspension of a professional/occupational license.
We use the information we collect from all Users to:
Sharing between Knowledge Seekers and Knowledge Providers: Knowledge Seekers and Knowledge Providers that have been connected for a knowledge exchange are able to see basic information about each other, such as names, photo, ratings, and any information in their profiles (e.g., LinkedIn Profile link).
Although we help Knowledge Seekers and Knowledge Providers communicate with one another, we do not share your actual phone number or email address.
Recommended Connections: TaskHuman may recommend certain connections between Knowledge Providers and Knowledge Seekers based upon information received and information collected by using TaskHuman. Recommendations are not endorsements of certain Knowledge Providers by TaskHuman, and should not be construed as such. As part of the recommendations process, we may show photos and other information to you.
Integration Partners: If you connect to the TaskHuman Platform through an integration with a third party service, we may share information about your use of the TaskHuman Platform with that third party.
Service Providers: We work with third party service providers to perform services on our behalf, and we may share your information with such service providers to help support the TaskHuman Platform.
Enterprise Alliance Program Partners: If you are utilizing the TaskHuman Platform as part of an Enterprise Alliance Program, we may provide your company with information about your use of the TaskHuman Platform. If you change companies, it is your responsibility to update your profile with the new information.
Other Use Cases: We may share your information with third parties in the following cases
Profile Information: You may review, request an update, or request the deletion of certain information contained in your profile.
Communications: You understand that you may opt-out of receiving text messages by texting the word “STOP” to (650) 530-1537 or by emailing email@example.com.
Do Not Track: We do not currently respond to “do not track” signals from web browsers.
If you choose to cancel your TaskHuman account, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your data will not be generally visible to TaskHuman Users, as promptly as possible. Data that was shared with others directly will continue to remain visible to others even after cancelling your account.
We retain your data even after your account is cancelled, if reasonably necessary to comply with any legal obligations, regulatory requirements, law enforcement requests, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
Additionally, we retain de-personalized information after your account is closed.
We are committed to protecting the data of the TaskHuman Users. Even though we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no security measures can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your data.
TaskHuman is not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13) years of age. If we find out that a child under the age of thirteen (13) has given us personal information, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe that a child under the age of thirteen (13) has given us personal information, please contact us.
