Mindfulness & Manifestation For Mind-Body Healing

In this TaskHuman Talks Podcast episode, coaches Jamie Carroll and Amy Glogg discuss how difficult experiences can be channeled into support for others through coaching. As an integrative wellness coach, Amy is passionate about helping people find themselves, whether that means leaning into their intuition or getting to know their bodies better.

 

Alternative Modalities Of Healing

Diagnosed with several conditions and diseases in her childhood, Amy’s health continued to deteriorate as she grew. Her dependence on strong medicine increased, and she began to self-medicate. After an at-home accident left her wheelchair-bound for several years, she realized something had to change if she wanted to truly embody a healthy lifestyle.

Amy’s trials with—and disappointment in—western medicine pushed her toward finding alternative healing modalities, like Reiki, Tapping, and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT is “a combination of a whole bunch of therapies thrown into one,” Amy explains. “It’s ancient Chinese acupressure mixed with modern psychology, energy medicine, and positive self-talk. It can really be customized to you…whatever you’re feeling currently to honor your feelings.”

In her own life, Amy improved her condition beyond what she and her doctors thought her body was capable of. This successful journey of self-healing led Amy to find her vocation and she dove into learning as much as she possibly could about alternative healing frequencies.

A large part of Amy’s healing philosophy is that you need to learn to speak your own truth. To help her clients feel safe to articulate their thoughts and feelings, Amy works with:

  • Limiting beliefs
  • Self-worth
  • EFT Tapping
  • Gratitude
  • Intuition
  • Manifestation

 

The Power Of Manifestation

Manifestation is really about transforming limiting beliefs,” Amy says. “It’s about changing your mindset.” By helping people voice their unique truths, Amy uses manifestation techniques to help people voice what they want their reality to be. 

 

Speaking your truth out loud acknowledges that truth, and can lead to feeling empowered to change. Through small actions rooted in gratitude, Amy helps users recognize they can change their lives. Being grateful for what you have means you’re not waiting for a particular circumstance to make you happy.

 

The Mind-Body Connection

Amy’s belief in the mind-body connection stems from what she refers to as the “Reiki Ideals.”  These ideals consist of these positive affirmations that you’re encouraged to repeat: 

“Just for today…

  • I live the attitude of gratitude.
  • I will not worry. I will trust.
  • I will not anger. I will be at peace.
  • I will do my work honestly and with compassion.
  • I will be kind to all living things, including myself.”

The way we treat our bodies impacts how we treat our minds, and vice versa. If you’re willing to do the work for one, you are often willing to do the work for the other. Amy encourages making both a priority: “You only get one body.”
